《独立日》中的经典演讲

Good morning. 
In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world.

And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in this history of mankind.

Mankind --that word should have new meaning for all of us today.

We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore.

We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps its fate that today is the 4th of July,

and you will once again be fighting for our freedom, not from tyranny,

oppression, or persecution -- but from annihilation. We're fighting for our right to live, to exist.And should we win the day,

 the 4th of July will no longer be known as an American holiday,

but as the day when the world declared in 
one voice:" We will not go quietly into the night!

 We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on!

We're going to survive!"Today, we celebrate our Independence Day!

而这一回，我们面对的不是暴政，压迫，或迫害，而是攸关整个人类的生死存亡。

我们将为我们的生存权，我们的存续权而战。

如果我们在今天凯旋，那七月四日将不再只被认为是美国的节日，而将成为全人类以一个共同声音来宣誓的伟大一天。

他们将喊道：“我们不愿坐以待毙！我们不能不战而亡！我们要活下去！我们会活下去！”

今天，我们庆祝的是全人类的独立日！
